Love these quizzes! Reply

Saying 'this was pretty easy' is subjective, especially when everyone has access to Google AI for answers. Regardless, many thanks to the author for tirelessly spreading Judaic studies to the less knowledgeable for the past 20 years. Reply

Avraham Kutepov Maple Valley March 12, 2026
in response to B. Apel:

You are correct. I just meant that Jewish corpus of literature is very vast, and there are so many less known books out there. The books mentioned here are the foundational/more well known ones. I just very much enjoy Jewish books, and know it's possible to make the quiz harder. Anyways, thank you Rabbi Posner for all the quizzes! Reply

Thank you Max, many blessings to the Chabad of Maple Valley for their holy work in promoting strong Jewish values throughout the Greater Seattle area. Reply

Of course you two know each other. You are best friends with one another Reply

B. Apel Encino, Ca March 17, 2026
in response to Avraham Kutepov:

Yes you do, since all Nefesh HoElokis are originated from the shoresh neshama, also at Mount Sinai we probably were standing next to each other as Raymond has correctly pointed out ;-) Reply

Raymond West Hollywood March 17, 2026
in response to B. Apel:

Avraham Kutepov and B Apel are such good friends, that their friendship dates back not only from the very day that they were born in this lifetime, but also in previous lifetimes dating all the way back to Sinai Reply

Feigue Cieplinski Middletown March 20, 2026
in response to Raymond :

Raymond: Regarding your own post to B. Apel: you know that because you were also a witness in Har Sinai! No previous lifetimes, there is only the neshama that can have that privilege. We all know each other since then, and keep the Jewish flame and bitachon alive now and forever. Am Israel Chai le'olam. Reply

B. Apel Encino, Ca March 20, 2026
in response to Raymond :

Raymond of West Hollywood kindly offered a remarkably deep, possibly even prophetic statement—please keep refining those talents of yours ;-). Reply

Raymond West Hollywood March 26, 2026
in response to Feigue Cieplinski:

Feigue Cieplinski first met Raymond at Sinai Reply

Feigue Cieplinski Middletown April 5, 2026
in response to Raymond:

Yes, the first Tziporah ( Feigue in Yiddish) was Rabbenu Moshe's wife. Tziporah, you, I, and all of Am Israel were present. ( no matter what generation b'diuk. ) Kol Israel beyachad. We have a plan that we must keep it- even if we fail along the way. We have a guide, the Torah, but in this crazy times we have also outside enemies, but the worst one is within ourselves if we don't try to improve and grow b'derech. by throwing away what we consider obstacles in our path ! Just do it !
it is the middle of Chol hamoed ,and that is why I am only catching up just now: . Chag Pessach kasher V'sameach. Reply

8/10. Not bad for one who has not read or even touched all of the books in question. I even knew about one because I read Michner's The Source. Also, some of the books are divided up differently in English rather than Hebrew and Aramaic. Thank you for an exciting quiz! I always learn something. Reply

I learned that the Rahm family standardized the Shas that we see today. - the Vilna edition. They sent researchers all over the world, even the Vatican, so they could make corrections to the Talmud Reply

Oh! caí con la pregunta tricky del "primer" Talmud. Me la jugué por las ediciones de la familia Soncino, y erré. Era Daniel Bomberg (el editor no judío) y el autor del estándar moderno del Talmud. Muy grato el test. Reply
